The Haltom City Housing Authority accepts all applications via the internet at:

https://haltomcityhousing.housingmanager.com

DO NOT ENTER WWW. IN FRONT OF THE ADDRESS, ENTER IT JUST AS IT APPEARS ABOVE

The applicant's name will be placed on a community wide waiting list based on date and time of the application that the application is received by the authority. The authority will maintain the community wide waiting list by the required number of bedrooms. You will receive a letter from Haltom City Housing Authority within thirty (30) days of your application informing you of your application number. Once you receive that number you may call and find your placement on the waiting list.

All applicants who have been placed on the waiting list shall be notified by mail to call and schedule a date and time for an interview at a later date. This normally will happen when you are within the top ten (10) on the waiting list. Being placed on the waiting list when you apply does not mean that you meet all of the screening criteria. All applicants will be screened and those who meet the screening criteria will be considered suitable for the housing authority program. Your interview date does not change your date and time of your application for housing.

Those applicants meeting the screening criteria are those:

  • Whose past performance in meeting financial obligations, especially rent, is satisfactory (two years rental history must be verified)
  • Who have no record of disturbance of neighbors, destruction of property, living or housekeeping habits that adversely affect the health, safety, or welfare of other residents
  • Who have no history of criminal activity involving crimes of physical violence to persons or property or other criminal acts that adversely affect the health, safety, or welfare of themselves or other residents. This includes, but is not limited to the possession, sale, or use of illegal substances.

The authority shall require whatever documentation is needed to verify information the applicant has provided.

All applicants will be required to provide the authority the following documents; identification, social security cards for each household member, verification for: family composition shall be verified with birth certificates and other legal type documents.

Applicants must keep their information updated on the application. If an applicant fails to notify the authority within the specified time, the authority will remove the application from its active files. The Haltom City Housing Authority will mail your interview letters to the address that is on the application you submitted. If that letter is returned to the housing authority because you no longer live there your application will be dropped from the waiting list. You must keep the housing authority office updated with any address change and telephone change by submitting the changes to the housing authority in writing or go back online to edit your original application at the web address listed above. This is the only way the housing authority office can contact you.

Remember: When you apply for housing you are put on a community wide waiting list. This does not mean that you have met all our screening criteria and are eligible for housing.
